My father-in-law, Tom caught a 40 inch muskie this morning.

He said that in the 30 years he is has been fishing, on Intermediate Lake, he has never caught a muskie.

From what I have been told the 40 inch fish is the biggest caught on record amongst the guys in Tom’s circle.

Tom said that the muskie must have been about 20 years old. Tom set the fish free and hopefully the fish has successfully returned to the deep part of the lake to recover from the whole experience.

I booted up the laptop to check a couple of last minute things and post that we have not left yet.

Gina wants me to finish getting ready, so I better go.

We should be on the road by 9AM.

“All my bags are packed, Im ready to go …” — Leaving on a Jet Plane

My bag is packed, Gina has started loading the car with dog stuff.

Oh yeah, I can’t remember if I posted it up here (and I am too lazy to check) but I made a pet barrier for the cargo area of the Vibe. I found some plans on the Internet for one made from copper, I made this one out of PVC. Since I took a bunch of pictures of the construction, I think I am going to post it up here and also post it back up to the forum site that I found the plans on.

I am currently ripping some CDs to my personal laptop’s iTunes library. I also ripped a DVD of stuff from my work laptop, being the data that I would need, should the need arise for me to work on something while I am away on vacation.

I am about to print out the directions from Google Maps for our trip, including our stop-over in Elizabethtown, KY. (done printing out the directions)

I am also installing PHP, Apache, and MySQL on my personal laptop. I hope to do a little bit of work on a side project that I have been wanting to do for a while, but without ready access to the Internet, that will mean that I need to be able to work on it locally.

Well, I have about 3 more CDs to rip, then I am going to pass out. We originally were talking about leaving at 5AM. It will be interesting to see if we still do, on the off chance that we will be doing that I really should get to bed.

The route has been updated (twice technically).

My previously posted version was a mistake, I am not sure how it happened (maybe I took a snapshot of the wrong Firefox tab) but I had posted a route with us going through the greater Chicago area. I originally had planned for us to go through Fort Wayne and Lansing.

I corrected the mistake and then was just working on booking the hotel, in the Nashville area. That didn’t work out, the only LaQuinta in the Nashville area that wasn’t too far off the route only had smoking rooms available.

Therefore, I started looking for LaQuinta locations along the route a little further up the road. I found and booked us a room at the LaQuinta in Elizabethtown, KY. That particular LaQuinta is very proud to state that all of their rooms are non-smoking.

This LaQuinta, like the majority of the others is pet-friendly, only slight difference is that there is a $50 pet deposit. Luckily it is refundable.

Below is the (new) new route!

We are going to stop in Nashville for the night. If we can get on the road by 8am then we should be able to get to Nashville by 10pm.

All for now.

I set my alarm for 0140, giving me time to crawl out of bed and over to the computer with plenty of time to spare.

Low and behold,  Jeremy messages me.

He is still awake.

Course he is on vacation, therefore he can stay up at long as he wants.

Ok, the maintenance is about to start.
